HAHT Commerce Ships Manufacturing-Specific Demand Chain Management Solutions

HAHT Customers Including Celanese, Mine Safety Appliances, and Pfizer HealthCare Applaud the Availability of Highly-Anticipated Software Solutions

01/28/03 - Raleigh, NC - 1/28/03 - Raleigh, NC – HAHT Commerce, Inc., the leading provider of Demand Chain Management applications, today announced general availability of three new demand chain application suites for chemical, consumer products and discrete manufacturers. The HAHT Consumer Products Suite, HAHT Chemicals Suite, and HAHT Discrete Manufacturing Suite are all built on HAHT’s new core technology, Commerce Suite 7.1, and provide specific functionality for each industry.

While manufacturers in different industries share some common needs, they determine their demand chain initiatives according to the operational priorities of their industries. For example, consumer products manufacturers are more concerned with managing and sharing branded product information, while a typical commodity chemicals company is more interested in increasing market share via segmentation and customer service levels, and discrete manufacturers are focused more on their channel partners than the other two.

“These new industry-specific suites represent the next evolution of demand chain management functionality,” said Rowland Archer, CTO of HAHT Commerce. “They give manufacturers the ability to first automate their internal functions, then integrate with partners, and eventually optimize their business processes across their demand chains.”

The following is a list of industry-specific functionality found in the suites:

HAHT Consumer Products Suite

  • Ability to define multiple packaging configurations for each product manages complex packaging relationships
  • “New Product Introduction” workflow process decreases time to launch

  • Dynamic querying capabilities serve to provide extended product data
  • Improved reporting controls for business intelligence enhance data analysis

“We’ve invested heavily in our product brands and the data that defines them,” said Clare Knight, Director EDI & B2B Information Systems at Pfizer Consumer Healthcare. “HAHT consumer products solutions make it easier to optimize that investment and ensure consumers receive the best products and the best brand experience through our retail partners.”

HAHT Chemicals Suite

  • Quote Management shortens the length of time it takes to reach a price agreement with Global customers during negotiations
  • Auto-replenishment based on collaboration, events & order history reduces errors and enhances customer service

“Rule number one at OxyChem has always been to keep the customer satisfied, so if the customer wants to order via fax, phone, the web, or some other channel, we will support it,” said Stacy Palmatary, VP of eBusiness at OxyChem. “HAHT’s Chemicals Suite helps us better cut costs and increase market share by enabling us to better segment our customers and target products that fit their needs.”

“We rely on our channel partners and distributors, so we want to do everything we can to make it easier for them to sell our products,” said Chris Kairys, Manager of eBusiness at Mine Safety Appliances. “HAHT understands our channel partner relationships and has built solutions that fit our needs.”

HAHT Commerce has a track record of understanding the specific industry needs of its customers and for creating solutions that satisfy those needs. This is why industry leading research firms echo that HAHT’s “ability to enter complex vertical markets has already been shown with its success in the Chemicals industry.”
