WiDeFi Names Geoff Phillips as Chief Executive Officer

Semiconductor Industry Veteran joins as company transitions
into product commercialization.

Melbourne, Florida –– September 13, 2005 –– WiDeFi Inc., a fabless semiconductor company that develops products and reference designs to extend the range and enhance the performance of wireless networks in various markets including Wi-Fi®, today announced Geoff Phillips has joined the company as President & Chief Executive Officer.

Phillips will lead WiDeFi in continued development of its unique family of Wi-Fi® physical layer repeater chipsets and expand operations to broaden revenue growth with customers worldwide.  As the company transitions into the next phase, WiDeFi will launch it’s Wi-Fi repeater chipsets for internet sharing, VoIP and streaming video applications.  Over the next several months, he will lead the company’s executive team in raising their Series B venture funding.

“Geoff Phillips leadership skills and solid semiconductor operations experience will guide WiDeFi through product launch and to the next level of profitable growth,” said Dr. Kevin J. Negus, Chairman of WiDeFi’s Board of Directors. “He is a strategic thinker and a day-to-day operations expert. He has a proven track record in developing successful semiconductor businesses and product lines from inception to profitability at both start-ups and leading semiconductor companies.”
 
Phillips brings more than 25 years of experience in the semiconductor industry to his new position.  He comes to WiDeFi from ATI Technologies (NASDAQ: ATIY), where he was Vice President and General Manager of the Digital Television (DTV) Product Line.  Prior to ATI, Phillips served as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at NxtWave Communications, a venture funded fabless semiconductor company developing demodulator products for the worldwide DTV markets. He was part of the executive team that successfully sold NxtWave to ATI in June 2002. Earlier in his career, he held various executive management Vice-President engineering and product line positions at Harris Semiconductor (now Intersil  Corp.).

WiDeFi develops chipsets, reference designs and software solutions that solve user experience problems such as range and signal strength for existing wireless networks.  WiDeFi’s technology is applicable to multiple high-growth wireless markets and standards including consumer electronics, wireless telephony, Voice over Wi-Fi, multimedia and broadband wireless access (including 802.11 WiFi and 802.16 WiMax).
