Kenai Systems and StrikeIron Collaborate to Deliver Secure Web Services

ROCKLIN, Calif. and RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., June 28, 2005 — Kenai Systems, Inc., a leading provider of Web services vulnerability assessment and management (VAM) solutions, and StrikeIron, Inc., the developer of the innovative StrikeIron Web Services Business Network (WSBizNet), announced today that they have partnered to enable Kenai’s eXamineXT tool to access the Web services on WSBizNet as samples to illustrate eXamineXT’s capabilities. eXamineXT is an advanced tool that tests Web services for security vulnerabilities and policy- and standards-compliance. eXamineXT is available for download www.kenaisystems.com

“StrikeIron’s Web Services Business Network is a powerful resource for Web services developers looking for ways to accelerate and simplify application development,” said Bill Kesselring, CEO of Kenai Systems. “These are the developers who will benefit most from eXamineXT’s automated operation, addressing Web services security, privacy, regulatory and policy concerns with the touch of a button.”

“Kenai’s eXamineXT is the perfect solution for assuring the security and best-practices compliance of software solutions created with Web services from WSBizNet,” said Bob Brauer, President and Co-Founder of StrikeIron. “Together, Kenai’s and StrikeIron’s offerings are a winning combination for rapidly and easily creating full-featured, secure Web services.”

eXamineXT makes it dramatically easier for enterprises to build, test and deploy secure and reliable Web services. By incorporating security expertise and testing automation in an easy-to-use development tool, eXamineXT enables software developers who lack security training to rigorously test Web services for known security vulnerabilities, as well as for their compliance with industry standards, organizational security policies and industry best practices.

WSBizNet is a subscription-based online network of services and tools for easier and faster discovery, understanding and utilization of Web services. WSBizNet provides access to over 1000 Web services and includes the StrikeIron Premium Web Services that provide the most trusted and reliable commercial Web services in the market with the broadest spectrum of business coverage. Business users can quickly find Web services (e.g., to get stock quotes, build a price comparison application, or to get access to their legacy systems) and integrate the Web service into desktop software such as Microsoft Excel. Developers can greatly accelerate and simplify their application development and reduce their maintenance costs with access to new visual tools that do not require programming.
