Emageon Inc. Files Registration Statement with the SEC for an Initial Public Offering


BIRMINGHAM, AL - (November 19, 2004) - Emageon Inc. announced today that it has filed a registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission for a proposed initial public offering of its common stock. All shares to be included in the offering will be sold by the company.

Emageon provides an enterprise-level information technology solution for the clinical analysis and management of digital medical images within health care provider organizations.

Wachovia Capital Markets, LLC and Piper Jaffray & Co. are the joint book-running managers of the underwriting group. Raymond James & Associates, Inc. and Friedman, Billings, Ramsey & Co., Inc. are co-managers.

A registration statement relating to these securities has been filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission but has not yet become effective. These securities may not be sold nor may offers to buy be accepted prior to the time the registration statement becomes effective.
