Gómez Continues Growth Run In Recently Completed Q2

Company closes record quarter as bookings rise 70% in eleventh consecutive growth period; Bruce Reading promoted to new post of Chief Operating Officer

WALTHAM, MASS., JULY 27, 2004 -- Gómez®, Inc., the Internet Performance Management Company, today announced record bookings for the second quarter ended June 30th.

Concurrently, Gómez announced the promotion of Executive Vice President of Worldwide Operations Bruce Reading to the new position of Chief Operating Officer.

Bookings in the second quarter rose 70% compared with the same period last year. Customer contract renewals remained strong at 93% during the period. The company attributes its bookings growth and contract renewal activity to an expanding market as well as continuing enrichment of its Internet Performance Management (IPM) solutions.

"The second quarter -- our eleventh straight period of growth -- was a real break-through for Gómez," noted CEO Dr. Alex Stein. "Clearly, Bruce's focus on operational process and execution has enabled customers to increasingly benefit from their investments in Gómez IPM solutions, meriting this well-earned promotion."

New and existing customers worldwide are recognizing Gómez's ability to help reduce IT operating expenses, grow revenue and re-direct investments into more productive areas than merely keeping the data center lights on.

Travelocity, the first online travel agency, booking close to $4 billion in travel in 2003, relies on Gómez IPM services to manage its global Internet application delivery infrastructure. Travelocity counts 44 million registered users who regularly rely on its Internet properties for purchasing flights, hotels, car rentals, cruises, dynamic vacation packages and other travel-related products and services.

"In our business, the competition is never further than one click away. Our success is directly tied to our ability to deliver an Internet presence that is highly available, fast and extensible to accommodate seasonal spikes," noted Travelocity Chief Technology Officer Barry Vandevier. "Gómez is enabling us to gain a real-time appreciation of our how our Internet applications are performing so we are aware of delivery challenges before they impact our top and bottom lines. Moreover, Gómez data and expertise are helping us to craft a continuous improvement plan that will help deliver an Internet experience that anticipates customers evolving e-business requirements."

Other Q2 highlights include:

Dr. Stein received an Ernst & Young 2004 New England Entrepreneur Of The Year® Award for Web Infrastructure & Services. The judges recognized Dr. Stein's entrepreneurial ability to develop, cultivate and sustain "groundbreaking" business models and services.

Network Computing and eWeek, two leading technology trade journals, lauded the Gómez Performance Network for its ability to correlate "last mile" and backbone performance measurements in one interface, as well as its ease of use and relevant data.

Gómez Europe expanded its German presence with the opening of an office in Hamburg.
"With application delivery growing increasingly complex, outside-the-firewall testing continues to be a high-growth business," Dr. Stein said. "As demand accelerates, we continue to stay close to the market's need for solutions that deliver actionable Internet performance insights and process expertise which mesh with existing enterprise management systems. In this way, we help our customers operate more efficiently and gain increasingly better returns from their Internet investments."
