Columbus, OH, August 19, 2004 – Building on the success of its InStream™ product line, Foresight Corporation, the leading provider of transaction processing automation solutions for healthcare, announces Acknowledgment Interpreter. By employing the new technology, healthcare organizations can enjoy faster, more accurate reporting with their trading partners by automating the previously manual process of interpreting transaction acknowledgements.

“EDI was created to allow computers to communicate. There is no reason healthcare IT professionals should be subjected to manual interpretation of error responses intended for machines,” said Robert A. Fisher, President & CEO, Foresight Corporation. “Acknowledgment Interpreter facilitates efficient communication within organizations and between partners.”

Using the new Acknowledgment Interpreter, InStream users can produce plain-English error messages derived from the acceptance/rejection notices (e.g., 997) received from translation or integration applications. It is tightly coupled with InStream’s ability to prevent non-compliant data from being sent or received. InStream strips out all such bad data permitting compliant transactions to proceed.

The Acknowledgment Processor will be available at no charge to all Foresight customers who have InStream by December 31, 2004.

Introduced in early 2002, InStream was the first technology to provide HCOs with real-time validation and filtering of HIPAA transactions. InStream remains both the market leader and the performance leader – processing over 100 claims per second on a single server. It is used by many leading healthcare organizations and vendors, including: Aetna, Anthem, BCBS Alabama, BCBS Montana, Fairview Hospital, Great West Life, Nationwide, Mayo Foundation, Premera Blue Cross and Truman Medical.

Foresight recently launched Transaction Insight™, the first Business Activity Monitoring (BAM) technology developed specifically to address the challenges posed by healthcare transaction processing systems. Transaction Insight uses automation to reduce operating expenses and allow unprecedented real-time, high level monitoring of business activities.
