TriVirix Sets Pace for 2004 North Carolina ‘Top 50’ Tech Firms

RALEIGH – TriVerix International of Durham is No. 1 among North Carolina technology firms when it comes to revenue growth over the past five years, according to Deloitte & Touche.

The North Carolina “Fast 50” were announced on Thursday. TriVirix reported an 8,881 percent in revenues over the past five years.

Art.com came in second at 3,444 percent, followed by Peopleclick (2,538 percent) and Performance (2,047 percent).

Despite economic downturns, the top tech companies have reported an average growth rate of 599 percent over the past five years, according to Deloitte.

This was the 10th year for the Top 50 list. To be considered, companies must have had revenues of at least $50,000 in 1999 and at least $1 million in 2003. The firms can be public or private, have headquarters in North Carolina, and have been in business at least five years.

The Fast 50 program also recognizes “Rising Stars” – companies in existence for three or four years. Included this year were PowerByHand, which acquired Durham-based Pinpoint, and LVL7 Systems. They reported revenue growth of 273 percent and 83 percent over three years.
