Durham, NC – TriVirix, a full-service contract manufacturer of electronic medical and life sciences equipment, announced today that it has acquired the assets of UMM Electronics, an Indianapolis-based company specializing in the design and development of medical device products.

UMM Electronics, which previously operated as part of Leach Technology Group, will assume the TriVirix name and immediately begin operating as a wholly-owned subsidiary. The details of the transaction were not disclosed.

The acquisition significantly bolsters TriVirix’s product design and development services while strengthening its ability to provide manufacturing solutions. UMM has successfully manufactured more than two million medical devices and instruments in its 16 year history.

There is a growing demand among medical device OEM’s for companies that can provide comprehensive manufacturing support and focus exclusively on products that fall under FDA regulations. The combination of UMM’s design capabilities and TriVirix’s manufacturing expertise gives customers a dependable partner who can deliver value from product design through end of product life management.

TriVirix also receives UMM’s patented technology for the rapid development of customized diagnostic meters. The proprietary platform is designed to help customers bring diagnostic meters to market faster and at significantly reduced development costs.
