BIRMINGHAM, AL - (September 17, 2003) - Emageon, a leading provider of enterprise solutions for medical imaging, has been chosen by Aurora Health Care in Milwaukee, WI to provide its enterprise-class software technology solution to manage the acquisition, archiving, distribution and viewing of digital images across its integrated delivery network (IDN).

The agreement precedes the opening of Aurora Health Care's new state-of-the-art facility under construction in Oshkosh, WI that is scheduled to open in October 2003. Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh will be the first Aurora facility to utilize the Emageon enterprise solution.

"After conducting a thorough vendor evaluation process, Aurora is confident that the selection of Emageon will address the demanding storage, distribution and viewing needs of an IDN as large and diverse as Aurora," said Patrick Trim, Director Capital Equipment Services. "Emageon's highly scalable solution will allow us to build a standards based, open systems infrastructure that will enable us to continue providing the highest quality of care to the communities that we serve."

"We are pleased to add Aurora Health Care to a rapidly growing list of prestigious and diverse IDNs which have partnered with Emageon in order to realize their goal of maximizing image value through the use of an enterprise-centric approach in the management of digital imagery," said Milton G. Silva-Craig, Emageon's Chief Operating Officer. "The new, advanced digital hospital in Oshkosh will open its doors utilizing an Emageon Image Management infrastructure. Our open-standards, high-performance solution will allow Aurora to manage a greater volume of patient data, speed and enhance patient care and increase the level of services provided to referring physicians, while minimizing total costs."
