Blackboard Announces European Advisory Board

10/21/03 - Blackboard Inc., a leading enterprise software company for e-Education, announced the formation of the Blackboard European Advisory Board. The new board will serve to further guide Blackboard in the areas of product development and services and offer an in-depth perspective into the evolving e-Education needs of the European market. The announcement was made at the Blackboard European Users Conference 2003, with more than 300 Blackboard clients in attendance.

The formation of the Blackboard European Advisory Board serves as a critical platform for collaboration with the European academic community. Board members will share their ideas, experiences, and innovations with other members and Blackboard’s product development team, as well as represent peer perspectives to ensure that Blackboard solutions continue to align with the diverse needs of academic staff and students across Europe.

“Blackboard has maintained a strong commitment to the needs of European institutions since the Company since its founding in 1997,” said Matthew Pittinsky Chairman and Co-Founder of Blackboard. “In formalizing a specific advisory board for Europe we build on our own experiences to date and add the experience of institutions on the front-lines of implementing, administering and directing e-Education initiatives.”
