In their new roles, both gentlemen will continue working with Aurora's life sciences, health care services, and healthcare IT portfolio companies as well as identifying new investment opportunities. Kroeger joined Aurora in September 2003 as an associate and was promoted to principal in 2005. Through his unique combination of expertise, he brings deep scientific, clinical and industry insight to Aurora's life sciences portfolio companies. He led or co-led syndicated investments in Cardioxyl Pharmaceuticals, Hyperbranch Medical Technology, Neotropix, Cardiofocus and Paringenix. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of each. He also serves as an observer on several other Boards of Directors. Prior to Aurora, Kroeger earned a B.A. in Biology from Harvard University, an M.D. from the Stanford University School of Medicine and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He also trained in general surgery at Brigham and Women's Hospital/Harvard Medical School. Jackson joined Aurora in May 2004 as a senior associate and was promoted to principal in 2005. He has focused on sourcing new investment opportunities in the healthcare services and healthcare IT sector and is working closely with Aurora's healthcare services portfolio companies. Jackson led or co-led syndicated investments in Valor Healthcare, Agility Healthcare Solutions, EDCare and ALN Medical Management, and currently serves on the Board of Directors of Agility Healthcare Solutions. He also serves as an observer on several other Boards of Directors. Preceding his Aurora tenure, Jackson was employed with First Analysis Corporation where he specialized in venture capital investments and public equity research in the healthcare services sector. Prior to that, he worked in the venture group at Compaq Computer Corporation and served as a manager at Accenture. Jackson earned an MBA with distinction from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management where he was awarded the Siebel Scholarship, an award given to the top five students by Kellogg's faculty.
